To create this year’s edition, we started from a clear motivation: the need to develop, now more than ever, critical thinking as a tool to navigate complexity. In this sense, culture is a

revolutionary act, because it holds within itself the potential and richness to suggest plural and possible visions of reality. We want to occupy broader horizons and wish you will have the

courage to cross the strict boundaries of conventions, in order to find ourselves more equal to who we would like to be. ORLANDO 2019 chooses to continue its action of cultural resistance creating real spaces of recognition and Freedom, because “understanding means being free”.
