Here’s a small preview of the program for the 12th edition of Festival ORLANDO: this year, the Festival expands beyond its traditional boundaries, with local initiatives already launched in October, as we’ve shared in previous months. Some of the offerings during the Festival will be the result of collective creative processes. We believe that culture should be experienced through various forms of participation, which is why we invite you to contribute to the creation of this edition, enriching the Festival with your presence and sharing moments together. In March, we announce three workshops with national and international artists. We invite you to register by April 20, as spots are limited!

Muna Mussie invites a group of residents from the city and province of Bergamo to take part in a workshop aimed at creating an installation: a long fabric wall on which a word, collectively chosen through a preliminary dialogue, will be embroidered. The project is conceived as a collective ritual, drawing attention to the gaps in historical memory, particularly the lack of acknowledgment of colonial and fascist traces still present in the Palazzo della Libertà.
Following an introductory session with the artist, the group will engage in a collective embroidery action, open to public observation, throughout the duration of the Festival.

De Isabella and Lele Tori and Hot Bodies Choir by and with Gérald Kurdian.

MUNA MUSSIE
Muna Mussie (Eritrea, 1978) began her artistic journey in 1998, training and working as an actress and performer with Teatrino Clandestino until 2001. In 2002, she attended the European Advanced Training Course for Actors, led by Cesare Ronconi of Teatro Valdoca, and continued collaborating as an actress until 2012.
From 2001 to 2005, she was a founding member of the Open research collective, where, following the performance opentolikemunamussie (2005), she developed a desire to explore her own ways of being on stage.
Her work—spanning gesture, vision, and words—investigates the languages of theater, performance, and visual arts, shaping the tension between different expressive poles.
Her productions include: MadrePatria (2006), Più che piccola, media (2007), Con Permesso (2008), Ti ho sognato, ma non eri il protagonista (2009). She co-authored the fashion collection FFMM (2007–2009) with Flavio Favelli. Her international scenic projects include Monkey See, Monkey Do (Chapter I-II, 2011–2012).
